Ever wondered about the extent of damage mishearing or misreading someone? Has it ever even crossed your mind that there would be damage at all, even at the very least?
Do you wish you could look back at all the times you’ve misunderstood and misinterpreted someone or their words ? If we could look back at all those times, we’d be surprised at what our foolishness, our ego, the things and matters we busied ourselves with at the time has done to the relationship built between you and that person.
It could have changed their opinion of you.
It could have changed the way they think of themselves in your eyes.
It could have changed their world for you could have meant the world to them! It could have changed their world if you had meant the world to them.
I would like to take this opportunity to sincerely apologise for the times I paid lesser attention than I ought to have paid.
..and those times I have misjudged, misheard, misinterpreted, misunderstood or misread someone’s opinion, voice, words, intention, behaviour, character and judgement. He or she may be a stranger or even an enemy. Or an acquaintance or a friend or a relative or family.
It brings utter sadness to my heart to know that some great changes have happened as a result of these mis-es. Perhaps if we had cared more, loved more, cherished, treasured and appreciated more and listened more, things would have taken a different route.
Alas. But as fate would have it, there would be no such route.
